How do I create a Resources Center card with a menu and submenu?
Create menus and submenus in the Resources Center when you want to organize related resources under one card. Menu items can exist within the app (text, links, PDFs, etc.) or can be external links.
How to Create Menu and Submenu Cards in the Resources Center
1. Create a new card in My Organization 0:13
- From the Admin Hub, go to My Organization.
- Click Add New Card.
- Enter a card name.
- Add an image for the card.
2. Enable the menu feature on the card 0:29
- Turn on Enable Menu.
- This allows you to add a list of clickable items underneath the card.
- These items can be either:
- content shown inside the app, or
- links that send users to an external website.
3. Add a menu item that opens inside the app 0:55
- Create your first menu item and give it a title, such as About Us.
- Choose New Component.
- Select Custom Text (or any Component option).
- Add your content in the text box.
- You can type directly, or copy and paste content from a browser or document.
4. Add a menu item that links to an external website 1:39
- Create another menu item, such as Benefits.
- Instead of an in-app component, choose External Redirection.
- Enter the destination URL.
- Save the item so it opens the website when tapped.
5. Add a submenu under a menu item 2:05
- Create a menu item that will act as a subheader, such as Community Resources.
- Turn on the option to add a submenu.
- Add a submenu item, such as Event Programming.
- Set the submenu item to External Redirection if it should open a website.
- Save your changes.
6. Refresh the app and test the menu 2:42
- Open the app and pull down in Resources to refresh.
- Tap the new card to open the menu.
- Verify that:
- in-app content opens correctly,
- external links go to the right website,
- submenu items appear under the parent item and open properly.
7. Confirm the final menu structure 2:51
- The example shows:
- About Us content inside the app,
- Benefits linking to a website,
- Community Resources acting as a subheader,
- a submenu item beneath it that links out to a website.
- This is the basic process for creating menu items and submenu items in the app.
