How do I send a Direct Push Notification?
Whether you have an urgent , quick message to deliver or multiple reminders about an upcoming event, here's a quick video to show you how to reach your app users immediately with a Push.
1. Tap on the New Direct Push Notification Button from the Dashboard or from the Content Hub 0:01
- In the app, there are two ways to send a push notification:
- Attached to content
- As a standalone direct push
- This walkthrough covers the standalone direct push option.
- Start by going to New Direct Push at the top, or access it from the Content tab.
2. Enter the push details 0:16
- Add a title for the push.
- Type the message you want to send.
- Example used in the demo: “Meeting Reminder”.
3. Choose who should receive it 0:26
- If you send it as-is, it will go to everyone.
- To target a specific group, open Push Delivery > Audience.
- You can choose from:
- Tag Groups
- Lists
- Individuals
4. Add optional links or actions 0:46
- You can make the push do more than just display a message.
- Optional additions include:
- Content Item: opens a specific item in the app
- Address: shows directions and a map
- URL: sends users to a webpage or sign-up form
- In the demo, the push is connected to a monthly meeting content item.
5. Review and publish the push 1:12
- You can optionally add an image, but it is not required.
- The push will still display with your logo on the left side.
- Click Review to check everything.
- Then choose Publish Now to send it.
6. Confirm delivery and understand where it appears 1:29
- After publishing, the push appears in the push table.
- It also shows up on the recipient’s phone.
- If the push is linked to content, tapping it opens that content item in the app.
- If it is not linked to content, it appears under the bell icon in the app’s Activity Center.
